Shropshire's rolling hills and forest tracks have been enjoyed by ramblers and walkers for many years. There is a great diversity of wild life to be seen with many places of interest to be visited. For example, Ludlow Castle, Ironbridge - with its nine working museums, Powis Castle and Gardens, Much Wenlock Priory, Stokesay Castle and many other Shropshire country towns and villages. The attractive market town of Knighton (about 2 miles from Weston) has a full range of facilities including interesting shops, a post office, a choice of tea rooms, a supermarket and a train service. Three miles in the opposite direction is Bucknell, a charming village well worth a visit. There are many interesting local walks along Offa's Dyke and over Caer Caradoc (an iron age fortified hilltop). For more information visit Shropshire Tourism's Website. |
